An engraved plate on a photo or picture frame makes a personal gift really perfect and finishes a commercial frame professionally. Providing an engraved plate is profitable too, a well known high street retailer charges £5 for engraving up to 14 characters and £10 per item for 14 characters.

Suregrave’s technology means you can become proficient in just a few hours and start wining business by offering a service many of your competitors don’t.

Our research also showed us most people would rather have their message reproduced with their own handwriting rather than with typed characters so Suregrave have introduced the Signature Accessory. This allows the customers message to be digitised and re-sized to fit a corresponding space on the gift. It’s simple to use and makes the purchase of a gift fun and the gift really personal.

A laser engraver will not only produce engraved plates, it can reproduce pictures to photographic standards, this process is particularly good on wood, aluminium, acrylic and engraving laminate and the process has a unique and popular style.

Materials
Name plates are often made from trophy aluminium which has a coloured top surface, brass which can engraved and filled or metal effect plastics from Suregrave such as StyleExt.

Machine
The right machine for you will be dictated by the job size and volume and the Wizzard 6 is ideal especially with an option to trade it in for its original purchase value within 12 months against a larger Suregrave machine. The bigger Wizzard 12 & Wizzard 16 offer faster speed and volume production.

A Co2 laser engraver is also an option for it’s ability to reproduce photographic images, detailed text and also because of its ability to engrave and cut in a single cycle.

Machine Options
Suregrave recommend a diamond for aluminium and a Swarf extraction system for brass and plastics.

Workshop equipment
At low to mid volumes Suregrave will provide a cut to size service but for high volume you may consider a guillotine or saw so you can buy your raw materials in full sized sheets.

Software
Surelab Lite will provide the basics for text import and engrave but engravers wanting to Scan and Vectorise logos or produce Braille signs should choose SureLab Pro. SureLab is also available in a laser output only module SureLab PhotoLaser+ which includes a host of special features for laser technology.
