The Wizzard PCB and accompanying SureCircuit software are ideal for PCB prototyping.

The process of producing a PCB prototype is very straightforward and allows prototype or low volume PCB’s to be produced

accurately. The use of the swarf boot ensure depth is accurately controlled and swarf contamination is reduced to a minimum.

SureCircuit’s process sequence is simple (note that most of these processes are automated).

Materials
Copper PCB Board.

Machine
The Wizzard PCB has a T slot work area of 305 x 305mm and is ideally suited to holding PCB board up to this size. The large work area allows several PCB’s to be produced simultaneously if required.

Workshop equipment
If engraving high volumes of PCB’s a  cutter grinder enables tools to be quickly sharpened in-house. A swarf extraction unit is also strongly recommended.

Software
SureCircuit software will import PCB files for proto-typing.

1. Opening of a Gerber file that contains one of the printed circuit layers
2. For old Gerber RS274-D files, manual edit of diaphragms (shape & size)
3. Opening of eventual next layers (4 circuit layers maximum)
4. Detection (or manual plotting) of the board cut-out contour with tool compensation
5. Detection (or manual plotting) and disabling of ground copper-planes
6. Opening of an Excellon file for eventual drillings
7. Automatic or manual alignment of layers (using a reference pad)
8. Manual plotting of tracks that represent logos or texts to be engraved at centre
9. Once the layers are aligned, automatic calculation of isolating contours
10. Eventual corrections on contours (additions between pads, deletions, connections, etc.)
11. Manual plotting of hatched zones to remove the copper off a surface and ease the soldering job
12. Eventual addition of centering holes to give an origin reference on the reversed board
13. Checking of drilling tools and eventual boring cycles
14. Selection and sending of data to the driver software or to the machine
