Due to the nature of their business Funeral Directors, Memorial Gardens and Cemeteries always conduct themselves with dignity and pride themselves on quality products to back up their services.
As such the pride in service should be matched by even the smallest item and as such a badly engraved or miss spelt coffin plate, memorial plaque or cross reflects poorly on the supplier and causes distress to surviving friends and family.
Bringing the engraving in-house means you are in control of the quality and can accommodate for last minute changes if necessary or if requested. There are financial benefits too as the cost of manufacture is far lower than buying in the service.
Some thoughtful and innovative businesses have seen the benefit of offering a truly personal message reproducing a handwritten note using the Signature accessory, rather than a computerised font style.

 Materials
Traditional brass is making a comeback mainly for environmental reasons, but the most popular materials for coffin plates and memorial crosses are still engraving laminates. Additionally engraved wooden crosses are popular to leave as mark of respect and stone can be engraved for memorials.

 Machine
The right machine for you will be dictated by volume. The Wizzard 6 will suit smaller business start ups especially with the option to trade in the machine for its original purchase value within 12 months against a larger Suregrave machine. The Wizzard 12 has much larger capacity and offers faster production for larger businesses.
 A Co2 laser engraver is also an option for it's ability to reproduce photographic images, detailed text and also because of its ability to engrave and cut in a single cycle.

 Workshop equipment
For the highest volumes or to support multiple directorships we recommend the Swiss manufactured Varga Saw which can be used to cut full sheets down to size. There are cost savings to be made purchasing raw materials in their full manufactured sizes.
 Software
Surelab Lite will provide the basics for text import and engrave but signmakers wanting to Scan and Vectorise logos or produce Braille signs should choose SureLab Pro. SureLab is also available in a laser output only module SureLab PhotoLaser + which includes a host of special features for laser technology.
