Engraving is used for marking and identifying as diverse a range of products as printing does, hoever engraving offers a distinct advantage, by physically cutting into the material or product engraving produces and indelible mark. This mechanical and traditional process also has higher perceived value than printing. A printed badge or architectural nameplate doesn’t communicate the same feeling of quality when compared to an engraved alternative (and long may it continue).
Whilst some engravers or manufacturers specialize or specific products like badges, labels or identification the traditional engraver equips his workshop to be able to engrave
many materials and products. An engraver is as likely to be asked to produce labels as he is to engrave an product or component so versatility is a key ingredient of success for our customers.
For specialist stainless steel engravers or 3D moulds and dies Suregrave offer a High Frequency spindle and mist coolant system.
Suregrave has the largest in-house inventory for the engraving industry With over 3000 stock lines, our friendly account managers can advise you which materials suit specific applications as well as advise the most cost effective way to purchase your supplies.

Machine This will most likely be dictated by the type of materials you will engrave and the size of the signs or engineered parts you need to clamp. The Wizzard 6 would suit many engravers as a dedicated labelling machine but the bigger work area and higher performance if the Wizzard 12 & Wizzard 16 offer increased speed and production. Established engravers with a wide portfolio of work will choose the 2516i and 4824i system machines are a popular choice for their all round capability to deep engrave metals, plastics, and woods.

Machine Options A professional trade engraver will produce mountains of swarf so we recommend a Swarf extraction system. A centre opening vice is recommended for holding small parts and labels. |

Workshop equipment A busy engraver is likely to want to be self sufficient and be able to maximise their profits so to cut down full heets to size we recommend the Varga Saw, if not cut to shape on the engraving machine labels can be finished with the Varga Beveller or the Corner Rounder and the Braille & Tactile kit will enable them to tap into the largest growing sign market today. Given the varied materials and sizes of signs and labels an engraver makes they will likely choose a cutter grinder so tools can be quickly sharpened in-house.
Software Surelab Lite will provide the basics for text import and engrave but engravers wanting to Scan and Vectorise logos or produce Braille signs should choose SureLab Pro. SureLab is also available in a laser output only module SureLab PhotoLaser + which includes a host of special features for laser technology. |
